Fifth Tuesday Fun- Installment 1, Spring Break Giveaway!
There's a baby a wee bit overdue around here...
And her name is Spring!!!
(Maybe someone got the due date a little mixed up?)
We've cleaned the pantry & the attic,
put away snow suits,
and gotten out the seasonal decor...
All to no avail!!!
(Maybe someone forgot to send the signal that all is ready?)
And yet...
despite the waiting
and the false alarms,
there is undeniable enthusiasm
in the air.
And hopes are soaring!!!

soon and very soon
the wait will be over and

Spring is going to arrive
in a rush of pink and blossom!
And the sun is going to be so bright
Someone
is going to need shades!!!
(Black ones with polka dots, for that matter.)
And that same
someone
is going to take a Spring Break
from all the work that new arrivals
bring with them!
And they are going to sip on iced tea
(from the cutest glass sipper ever!)
and munch away on
salted caramel almonds,
because the other fine option
(chocolate!)
has a habit of having emotional meltdowns
when placed in direct sunlight.
The question is:
will that someone be you?
And that same
someone
is going to take a Spring Break

May I add my name and my dreams? You know in the event that I should win you can always transfer the won things to my mom, right? If no i ternational is allowed feel free to just delete my comment! My name of course is Bertha Hostetler de Grothe and if I would resd in the sun I would of course read Jan Karon's newest book or an old one of hers if I didn't have her new book! But my dream is to sit here, in my beautiful sunshine beside the lake... Watching the cluds move acrosa the volcanos...and have a friend from long ago sitting beside me...that is a dream I persist in dreaming....

DeleteA giveaway- how fun!!!:) My name is Kara Wadel and I don't believe I will give my email address because I have VERY good reason to believe that the writer of this blog already has it!! Sitting in the sun with a good book would feel so wonderful right now and it would be made even more wonderful if I had those particular sunglasses perched on my face with some iced tea in that cute yellow drinking cup sitting beside me all the while munching on those almonds. Doesn't that make you want to win this giveaway? It does me! I'm not sure what I would be dreaming about; rather I would prefer to have a new book by Robert Lesslie to give me the grins and giggles while I am reading it.

I just love giveaways!! And I just luv those adorable sunglasses. I would sit outside and dream about the Florida beach and the palm trees and what good times we had there for a week this winter. And about dolphins and bodysurfing. I think I would be pretty lucky to win these things!!! Does the pretty material go with it?

ReplyDeleteJoanna If I win this give-away you can come to my house and I will share the nuts and make you some iced tea. But I may keep the cute sunglasses. Perhaps I will dream about a beautiful garden filled with luscious vegetables and red strawberries. This garden never gets weedy or buggy!! It's surrounded by a white picket fence, and flowers grow in profusion! I'll be looking forward to Saturday!!

My dreaming is oft interrupted but if I could dream of something to keep the 5 littles occupied, I'll dream about a small, although flourishing garden, and new flowerbeds built and blooming and then Me relaxing in the gazebo reading...well, let's say one of Jamie Langston Turner's books I haven’t read yet.

And of spring - we were frosted in powdery white stuff again on March 31, but all around there are little crocuses poking up and trying to bloom.
My reservation on "A Light Between Oceans" finally paid off, so I'm looking forward to reading that this month.
